Can not distinguish the fabric of your winter wedding dresses and cannot decide which will be the most suitable one for you? Here is the bridal dresses fabric glossary for you to get to know them.
Fabric Terms
Batiste: A lightweight, soft, transparent fabric.
Brocade: A Jacquard-woven fabric with raised designs; traditionally popular for fall and winter, now also worn in warmer weather.
Charmeuse: A lightweight, semi-lustrous soft fabric, that is satin-like to the touch.
Chiffon: Delicate, sheer, and transparent -- made from silk or rayon, with a soft finish; often layered because of its transparency, making it popular for overskirts, sheer sleeves, and wraps. It is common used in customizing the plus size wedding dresses.
Crepe: A light, soft, and thin fabric with a crinkled surface.
Damask: Similar to brocade with raised designs, but woven in a much lighter weight.
Duchesse Satin: A lightweight hybrid of silk and rayon (or polyester) woven into a satin finish.
Dupioni: A finish similar to shantung, but with thicker, coarser fibers, and a slight sheen.
Faille: A structured, ribbed finish like grosgrain ribbon; usually quite substantial.
Gabardine: A tightly-woven, firm and durable finish, with single diagonal lines on the face.
Georgette: A sheer, lightweight fabric often made of polyester or silk with a crepe surface.
Illusion: A fine, sheer net fabric, generally used on sleeves or necklines.
Jersey: A very elastic knit fabric; the face has lengthwise ribs and the underside has crosswise ribs.
Moire: A heavy silk taffeta with a subtle, wavy design.
Organdy: A stiff transparent fabric.

Hi. I'm a 45 year old musician that can't read or write music. I'm new to networking and sharing, so please, bear with me. I'v spent most of my years and my abilities on entertaining myself, family and friends. I've never been in a band, and perfomed very little(in public). However, I love music of all types and feel that I may have something to offer the rest of the world. If you check out my site at myspace, there are two songs there that were both written and recorded in the sleeper of my rig. I realize that they are not studio quality, but everyone seems to like them. Any comments would be greatly appreciated, even the negative ones....Thanks.

Yep... I put another one together this morning. This mix has been the most challenging thus far simply because of the sheer number of MTs, nearly 50. I had lots to material to work with and I really enjoyed the challenge.

Betty: I disagree with you that our music isn't about a longing for home. Sure - not all our songs are (thank god) but the new album, The Homeward Stretch, is a nod to that good-achy feeling: the exult of leaving, the yearning to return; when coming home again feels like leaving. I think you just have a problem with being viewed as twee and cutesy and want to make your booze-weary man-side known. That reminds me, I bought your birthday present yesterday. Guesses on what it might be?

Billy: No, sorry. Above, I meant I totally agree with you about home. I like how The Homeward Stretch just came together, how we let the theme reveal itself. Of course there is the sense of home, of contentment, of familiarity. The essence of domesticity. But the songs are each a component, an individual part, funny how it all linked up huh? No idea on birthday presents. Uggs? Last years flannelette pyjamas are coming in handy. I like the top half. The bottom half get all twisty. Not good.

Betty: I understand the twisty bit. Needless to say, when the air's too nippy for nudity I grace a nightdress. This is a vintage cotton and pearl-button number, not the flammable variety with just kiss me! written across the breast. Dear god, no. Not one of those. Never one of those. You'll have to wait on the pressie. But I can guarantee, I'll never in my life buy you Ugg Boots. Back to the Future's on tonight. You gonna watch?

Billy: Um. No. The 80s revival is yet to make any impact on me, despite my penchant for cheesy synth pads and 303 beats.

Betty: So when are you gonna bust out some of them beats? Been a while. Or are you an acoustic purist these days?

Billy: My beats are in the closet. It's all folky-dolky at the moment; frankly, I've been having a ball. Feedback has been pretty positive hasn't it? Manu Taylor mumbled something good and Nick Bollinger's stopped just short of gushing. Praise indeed, we must be doing something right? Right?

Betty: Yeah, but we're still awaiting Sweetman's review. That could put the kibosh on all of it. Oops?! Did I just say that? We might need to edit that out.

Billy: That's reasonably inappropriate.

Marcy Playground Contest

Well, the results are in. Even though I didn't make the Judge's Choice cut, I did place 7th for "I Burned The Bed" and 9th for "Black Bird" in the popular vote which is truly and honor. This was a hell of a lot of fun and I learned a lot just listening to everyone's interpretations. I especially want to thank Marcy Playground for their amazing work and openness with this project. This has been an incredible opportunity for everyone who participated and I hope that we have future opportunities like this.

I would be remiss if I failed to thank IndabaMusic for being the conduit. You guys rock!

TOSSED SALAD

Sitting here in front of my mixing desk finishing up a salad and I am not sure whether I am feeling technical or creative today. I feel very unmotivated and unorganized and I think the fact that my apartment looks like a tossed salad has something to do with it. Organization is vital in any audio work, especially in the creative process. Without Organization creative ideas don’t flow as well, and you often will find yourself hitting writers block or fatiguing your ears while you loop a part trying to fit the elements together. Naturally my organizational skills are lacking at best, however I do scrap up the energy and completely organize and clean my apartment. Getting myself into that mindset helps my projects flow a lot smoother because your mind is already stretched and ready for a workout.

So today I will actually leave my audio projects till after I organize my place, when I know for sure 100% if I will be creating or mixing.
