The Progressions - The Progressions-Mariah Carey-I'll Be Lovin U Long Time
Comments
Mark Sudack: "I like this mix a lot. Production is really tight. I like how the chords compliment the vocals nicely - it keeps the 'feel good' vibe of the original but in a completely different way. It almost sounds more like a "typical Mariah" record then the original. No huge originality points on this one, but to me this is the most commercially viable of all the finalists. Sounds like it should be on the radio right now."
Kerri Mason: "This mellow mix enhances the R&B-ballad tendencies of the original, emphasizing the prettiness of the melody with a steady piano accompaniment and sampled strings. Mariah's vocal line is front and center. Very emotive."
Mantis Evar: "The Progressions warm piano intro, crystal clear production, and focus on Mariah’s vocals is what draws me to this submission. There is a nice build to the middle of the song when it breaks into a kick drum/clap/vocal break and resolves back to a nicely layered chorus. Well done."

Kerri Mason: "Finally a dance mix! This uses more of the vocal but still has a dubby quality to it. Could hear it on the Body & Soul dancefloor. Love the conga break and the delicate keys. Has a lovely elegance to it."
Mantis Evar: "A nice mellow intro with swirling sounds that quickly jumps into an upbeat tempo introducing Mariah’s vocals that sits firmly on top. Very nice."
