Inspire Third Eye Blind's New Album!

Third Eye Blind is back and energized as they gear up to release their new album, Ursa Major. Participate in a series of contests starting with "Non-Dairy Creamer" and you can help them put on the final touches!

With their first new track in over five years, Third Eye Blind comes out swinging. "Non-Dairy Creamer" is an ironic, pointed statement on modern American society. Based on a powerful arrangement of guitars, vocals, drums, bass, and violin, there's still a lot of room for you to get in there and work your magic.

Third Eyed Blind provides you with the un-mixed instrument stems for "Non-Dairy Creamer" so you can get your hands dirty. Mix your own version, remix theirs, or add your own tracks to the mix.

Inspire the band with your vision of the song!

Winners were announced on October 23, 2008 at 12:00 PM EDT

Prize

This contest is part of a series of Third Eye Blind contests, with each contest centered on a song on the upcoming album Ursa Major.

Top 3. Members and the public will nominate three community favorites from each contest to receive an autographed copy of the album when it's released.

First Place. Third Eye Blind will choose a winner from among all the submissions in each contest. The band will release an alternate mix album of contest winners, to be included as a companion digital album to the band's own release of Ursa Major.

Grand Prize. Third Eye Blind will also select one Grand Prize Winner from among all the contests. The Grand Prize winner will have the opportunity to perform live onstage with Third Eye Blind!

Judges

The band's excited to hear your submission and the discussions you have about its music! Band members will select the first-place winner from among the submissions. After the campaign is over and the album's complete, they'll critique the first-place winners of all the contests and select one grand prize winner. Entries will be judged on creativity, originality, and marketability, so think outside the box!

Check the main blog page for 3EB's studio access program. The band's looking for input on what they should name their new EP. Head over and tell them what you think!

Michael Lee wrote on October 22, 2008:

That sounds like a winning statement David Marion... Ha! The results prove it! Reggae rules, dance drools- final. Since you didn't step up to the reggae plate this time some one is gonna take advantage of the situation, ya know? I would and I love Reggae its one of my favorite genres, but it just doesn't pump me up like a good dance mix! lol Hey Gabriel III Urian: I think you are right to wish for that... whoever said that they want all dance songs on the album was on X at the time of their statement so of course they just wanted to dance forever.

Gabriel III Urian wrote on October 21, 2008:

Maybe some dance versions or other genres other than that 3eb's are gonna be included in the mix album. Right? What for it's a mix album if it's going to sound like the same genre. So do whatcha like, watcha watcha like. lol

"David Marion" wrote on October 21, 2008:

No, no, no, Michael Lee... I think that if you want people to relax, you should give them some reggae to listen to. Yeah, in my opinion, a reggae remix should win, is there any reggae remix in that contest ??? Just kidding, LOL...

Michael Lee wrote on October 21, 2008:

Ryan Hughes 4 teh win! I will say this only once... Third Eye Blind does not need more dance songs, are you kidding? lol A lot of their songs are upbeat and rockin which gives people plenty to dance to! I know what you are gonna say, "but they aren't dance songs!" so what? If every song in the world was a "dance" song (I assume you are talking about a few genres of electronic music?) people would be throwing up from all the bouncing around! Just kidding... I love dance music and yesterday I went to a dance concert for the "Dance Rawr Dance" tour so nothing personal against the dance, dance, dance.

Hello!!!!! I'm writing from ShenZhen (China)... what's up here???? As I said at first, any of the dance remixes would get to the top 5 so...any other contest without dance remixes on the top... so bad!!! you guys must be more "mind-opened" and vote not only the remixes you like but the ones you consider they are good!!! See ya (maybe, I doubt it) in another contest! :)
