Just two years ago the Vancouver, Canada based pop-rock duo Carmen and Camille broke onto the music scene with their debut album, Two. As twin sisters however, their collaboration began long before this release; they've been rocking out together since the days when bubblegum and air guitar were more important than boys. Now with real instruments in hand, their driving, girl power anthems and emotional, heart-wrenching ballads are rocking them to success. With numerous hits from Two making their way onto the episodes of MTV’s The Hills and many televised appearances including shows such as MTV's Total Request Live and Canada’s YTV, these charming girls are spreading their infectious melodies and perfected harmonies around the nation.

Carmen and Camille are inviting you to come along for their rise to success. They’ve provided the stems from their previously unreleased track, “Shine 4U”, and want you to remix and re-imagine this song into something entirely new!

In a bold and unprecedented move, the girls have decided to keep the new mixes under a Creative Commons Attribution license, giving you the opportunity to work with the song to create your own success! This means that you can take your unique mix of this song and distribute and share it freely and sell it, as long as you give Carmen and Camille credit. So, come hop on board with this talented duo and bring your remix of their track to the top of the charts!

Is there any way someone could email me the source track files? I know the entry period ended and i can't enter, but I was in the hospital for a while and some things happened and I never got the chance to enter. I would still like to remix this song for my own pleasure, but I can no longer DL the source tracks. Thanks.

clearly, there are other perspectives on being a 'successful' producer which is absolutely fine...i understand everyone's view. I do not 'knock' any creative/producer out there, I merely have an open-mind to make nothing less than AMAZING...when i read there remix was being played in rotation I was expecting something else. i.e. the snap sound has been overly used in R&B,Hip-Hop,Pop...whatever, so as a creative, if I wanted to take that route, I would've recorded/mastered a 'snap' sound for that element. There's nothing wrong with using preset sounds; but regarding what 'people like to hear', that's a relative thought b/c people are brainwashed into what they think like to hear period- I don't 'smash' anyone producer or judge...it's all about growth & with this virtual platform, (indabamusic) the definition of 'successful' music can transform in authenticity, moreover.

I agree with Rodney. If a remix (or the demonstrated potential of its producer) is not commercial viable then a record label is not going to be interested in the remix (or the producer). The MC comp was before my time, but I heard it and thought it was great. Was it safe? Yes. Could it make money? Yes. I don't knock the progressions for the effort out of the top ten it was easily the best to me. You can't complain about a contest if you enter knowing what the rules are (no disrespect). I haven't won a contest yet, but I don't focus on the win I focus on the exposure. I believe my product is among the best on the site. Even a music contract doesn't guarantee success. If someone else wins congrats, if I don't think their music is any good, I don't smash the producer, I smash the judges responsible for the win.
