“Blue - going home alone from a party. I must credit this song to DJ Trevor Risk. He played a song called Love Buzz at his night on Mondays, and everyone lost it on the dance floor. Also I have always wanted to talk about not being from the ghetto, but it's a touchy subject - not trying to separate myself class wise, just speaking my truth. Through my mothers womb. Underwater. This track is blue.”

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Can I SPAM the discussion board?!?!
A: No! It's meant for discussion. Posting about your entry is cool, but please be respectful of everyone who wants to talk about the contest and don't post the same thing repeatedly.

Q: Can I submit a mashup and/or use samples in my submission?
A: No! Your submission must be made of the tracks provided and/or material for which you own the copyright.

Q: How many entries can I submit?
A: Just one! Make it count! (there are 10 other K-OS contests though, and you can enter all of them!)

Q: How do I download the source files?
A: You must first enter the contest before you can download the files.

Q: What can I add to the source files?
A: You can add anything you want! You can re-record the entire song, just use the vocals and build off of that, or do a straight mix and only use the source files - the sky is the limit.

Q: I'm new to mixing/producing and need some help!
A: If you need help and are using our online session console, check out our help section and online tutorials.

Q: Are we allowed to post the track to our other social networking sites?
A: Once you submit your entry, you'll get your own personalized widget so you can spread your entry all over the web. Just submit it and then click on the "Get Widgets" button.

Q: Can I sell my mix?
A: No! Submissions are licensed to you under a Creative Commons Attribution- Noncommercial-No Derivative Works 3.0 license. This means you can play your mix anywhere you like for non-commercial purposes, as long as you always give due credit to K-OS. For more information on this license, go to http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/3.0/

Q: My widget doesn't work. What the heck?
A: We continually work with our widget syndication service and other websites to increase compatibility as much as possible. That said, different sites have different issues with widgets. The best way to guarantee success is to follow these guidelines.

• Avoid using Internet Explorer (use Firefox instead)
• When posting to popular social networking sites use the built in sharing functionality for that site
• Avoid posting to the "About Me" or "Like to Meet" sections of your MySpace profile

Q: I don't see my question here!
A: Please post a description of the problem on the discussion board and we’ll help you as best we can!

Hey everyone! We’re expecting K-OS to announce the winners soon. If you are selected by K-OS as one of the 11 grand-prize winners, be prepared to provide us with your email, address, and phone number in a very timely manner so that we can work out the details for the CD release and get you paid!
