“Purple Haze - with a yellow amber flashing light. This was the first song I wrote for the album, and I was livid when I wrote it. Disappointed in myself that I stopped rapping like this, but more relieved that I still had fire. Real zambonis clear the ice; this song breaks the ice, but also leads me into the Holy Darkness.”

Hey Indaba, I told my girls I'll be ready a little after 10. We like to have a good time on Fridays, but I'm waiting on K-0S. They're already sending me "I Hate The Deacon" emails.

Thought I would add a little humor;-)

"One of the 11"???!!!... I thought it was supposed to be possible to win more than one comp.....

Hey everyone! We’re expecting K-OS to announce the winners soon. If you are selected by K-OS as one of the 11 grand-prize winners, be prepared to provide us with your email, address, and phone number in a very timely manner so that we can work out the details for the CD release and get you paid! K-OS may be asking you to make minor tweaks to your mixes, so be prepared! Drum roll please......

I hear you Maniacs about the industry. This guy got songs titled Slave Plantation, The Complex and Vampire Killer, so he's already drawn the line in the sand.

It's not as difficult as people think it is to make it in music business. I'm not necessarily talking commercial numbers, but a living. A lot of musicians don't want to do the dirty work. At least all the people I run into say they are serious until a real discussion start about making it happen. I still have "professional" musicians pissed at me in Philly. If you ask them what I did, they can't tell you anything except I asked them to act like they're hungry and stop complaining like Pussies.

I aint got to tell you this Maniacs, you've got to have the mentality like you're going to war. The guys serious about making it don't mind sleeping 3 hours days on end. Girlfriends bitching aint nothing cause there's always a woman somewhere for a musician, even ugly ones. But you get these wimps, you'll hear a lot of complains about missing Saturday brunch with their girlfriend. So it's a gorilla war mentality you've got to have. The weak get killed off and the steeled go on to fight the war.

On top of that you've got to dot all your I's and cross all your T's.

Because labels dont sign artists just on talent anymore like most people assume! Artist development is gone. You need a strong fan based, sound scan with lots of units sold or downloaded, be part of youtube or myspace trend, radio spins arent needed but can help much, you need stylish looks, talent, and establish fan base or have Hanna Montana as your little sister, jessica simpson as your older sis or kiss lots of record label ass. Welcome to the wonderful world of music! ;) or you could go indie which has it benefits - i tell you all about that later.

The Deacon wrote on February 18, 2009:

Why isn't this guy signed to a label? Okay, every track isn't good but some of the tracks are great. Hey, I'm just trying to make conversation while we're waiting for the results: http://www.soundclick.com/store/digital/01_Shop...

Just curious what programs you guys use for song authoring. Not for contest remixes like these, but for encoding ISRC numbers in the pre-master. Apparently Logic comes with a mastering program that does it, but I want to get one and save paying the lab rat rates.

Sorry Maniacs, I wasn't scolding people and did understand where you were coming from. My comment was directed towards Luis and Treble. All I was saying is just don't offer up information. Most criminals get caught because they go bragging to friends. Nobody cares about what pirated software you're using or if your material is copy until you have a hit record. Just some food for thought. Cool I'm paranoid Benny, but my material is copy and I use legal software.
