The mariah comp was based on votes. Read the rules folks. The Progressions got the most votes so therefore they won. It may not seem fair but everyone knew the rules before they got in so there's really no use complaining. Yes, I think there were many mixes that were better than the winner but that's irrelevant. It was what it was.

Yes Mr.Bond. . . i agree...it's all about networking and putting your remix "out there". Provide links to your entry to be in with a chance of winning. There's probably thousands of fantastic unsigned musicians because they haven't marketed themselves enough.

The whole thing is very frustrating because you expect being juged on musical grounds but in the end, you will lose (there are far more chances to lose than to win) and wonder why the other guys won. Of course the winning and runners up, and the popular top ten and the juges picks are all to be juged as inferior by you (me). There is the time when you hope you'll be chosen, and the wait is long, there are those comments on your submission saying you sound so good (that's evidence of your talent), and then : the bitter end of it : Nothing. Others have done better than you. They are more popular, and their music has a more commercial appeal. I'm also getting sick of it. Titred of submitting tracks and see other guys win the contests. Tired of feeling my music doesn't get the chance to be exposed more, because of the comments i get, because of the time and energy and dedication i throw into my music and production... Yes, but as i can see, i am not the only one feeling the biterness of an ungreatful life. Others get good comments on their tracks, others don't get anything whereas their tracks sound good (to my ears at least). That's the harsh truth : success in music is about subjectivity and luck. You can't force people to love your music. The only thing you can do is never losing the love of it, because if you do, you won't have the right to expect others to love it then. Don't do it for success, do it for the valor. You can become a better musician , producer and human being and never know any success. This won't mean you failed, but that others failed to acknowledge your value.
