IDM
IDM, Glitchy beats, breakcore, Microhouse ..
IDM or Intelligent Dance Music; A new art and rage about cutting up samples, repeats, distortions and glitches in the music. A style emerged in the early 90's which were described as electro, electronica and ambient techno. It makes the music sound much more and detailed than it actually is. It's the pure art of sample-juggling to add colour to an existing production.
Glitch VST plugins are dblue, glitched and many others available for PC and Mac.
Glitches can best be done manually by searching the best possible effect.

"Two of my favorite glitch plugins for the mac are suppatrigga and livecut. Usually I bounce 8 bars of a premade loop through those plugs and then use the bits and pieces of that bounce and peace together a more coherent track. Much fun to be had!"
good call, Tripform. That's the only way to use those randomize vst's. I find it appallingly lame when I listen to an artist and I can hear Livecut, Glitch, Supatrigga etc clearly being used in the mix.
I know, everybody says it, but please pay a visit to my side, I'm new here and some side-views, comments and rating and stuff would be very very cool (dunno if it's IDM, but please visit me anyway)
I did a glitchy Crystal Method remix. House but with a glitchy twist. Ableton Live + VSTs.
Hello all, if you are a user of Reaktor then you should check out my modification of the fabulous rex_in_fx ensemble, it's great for glitching up sounds:

One of my first (of the many) IDM/Glitchy creations to come ....

And Lenny, smooth tracks brother. Definitely IDM imo. I can totally hear your influences coming through in your sound, which speaks to your ability to pick things up and run with them. Solid! Maybe we can work on a track together some day.
