IndabaMusic Harry Smith Project

Recently I was inspired by what they're doing on the "playing for Change" project and by a documentary I saw about Harry Smith, who put together "The Anthology of American Folk Music". Here's the idea for the project:

1) We select 10 -12 songs from the Anthology. Most of the songs are in the public domain, but try to verify that you're picking one in PD.

2) We either rework the songs with our own modern interpretation, add lyrics, change the music or go with the original version. We can work together to contribute to each others songs. Let's try to get together a wide range of genre styles.

3) Each member needs to contribute a video which we can use to make our video for the song, something like youtube quality. It can be performance or various scenes that relate to the song, we can be creative in what we do for the video.

4) In the end we hopefully will have completed songs and accompanying videos.
