A new book, "Six String Nation" (http://www.sixstringnation.com/), is being released next week. The book follows a very cool guitar, made with pieces of Canadian history (e.g., Trudeau's paddle, a seat from Massey Hall, a Stanley Cup ring), as it makes its way across the country and is played by a huge range of musicians.
There's a launch party June 9th at 8pm at the Gladstone Hotel (1214 Queen St W) in Toronto. Ariana Gillis and Madagascar Slim will be performing. If you're around, this one's worth checking out.

[ Genre: mellowbeat/electro/minimalistic/downtempo/'laidback groove'/experimental etc. ]
Jimmy,
Welcome to Indaba! Glad to have you in the community.
If you're looking for help on mcing specifically, check out some of the groups that are dedicated to that: The Producers, Hip Hop Samples, Hip Hop Is Not Dead, MCs and Vocals, etc. If you're looking for help with the console and are trying to get more into Indaba, you can go to the help section and the forums (lots of great advice there).
The easiest way to get involved, though, is simply to join a session that you like the sound of. Do an advanced search for Rap/Hip Hop to find sessions where people are looking for mcs on and request to join.
On the technical front, not sure why you're having trouble loading up your songs. You should be able to do that by going to your profile (the "network profile" tab) and clicking on "Edit Songs". For profile songs, we only support MP3s, so the profile uploader won't work if you're trying to upload WAVs or AIFFs. Let us know if you're still having trouble and I'll have one of team reach out.
Good luck getting started!
