For a real mind bender, go try the zenkov rhythm at the Zenkov session. It's a 21/8, or a combinatio 9/8, 7/8, and 5/8. Great workout for hand drums.

i'd totally say it counts. i recorded a percussive beat thumping on a wooden table with my index fingers. once in the computer, a little eq and reverb boosted up the sound. check out the song in my profile, called bus melody. the percussion comes at the end.
