I used to be glued to Cubase, Ableton Live, and Propellerheads Reason but the power, flexibility, and excellent sonic fidelity of Logic is just unbelieveable! I've had to force myself to rediscover other software (just got Propellerheads Record to complement Logic), but it amazes me how I constantly learn how to do new things in Logic. I only learned just yesterday that Logic can convert recorded (or imported audio to MIDI notes that can be used to 'play' virtual or outboard MIDI instruments. Here's how: create a midi track (e.g. for a virtual instrument). Select this track (so that the track is highlighted). Then double-click an audio file so that Logic's sample editor window opens. Then select Factory-Audio to Score and select from the appropriate options that appear. Return to the arranger windown and commence playback -- voila! Of course, this method works best on simple, monophonic audio material.
I would just like to say i agree with all logic user, i used a lot of music software and logic is the best for the price the give you so many tools to work with right from the start,i am hope being apart of this group will allow me further my understanding of logic. Peace MIKE OUT
