Hi, I help manage Tana, an alternative rock singer, lyricist, and synth artist. She is currently working with a team on an EP release and is looking for a strong mastering engineer to put the finishing touches on the tracks. We created an Indaba session with demo tracks. If interested, the link to the session is:

hello group, I am an aspiring hip hop artist looking for a chance to prove myself in the industry. Im not looking for a hand out necessarily Im just looking to work hard and show someone what I can do. If there is anyone in this group that can point me in the right direction to get my career going I'd appreciate it, check out the songs on my page, I'm interested in hearing what you think.

As humbly as I can say this next statement, I feel as though my lyrics are already on a level ready for nationwide recognition, my sound quality on the other hand is holding me back honestly. If anyone in the group can help me with this problem I'd greatly appreciate it, thank you.

I thought this was a discussion board, when did this forum turn into spam as well? I must have been gone a long time from this forum.
I know serious engineers will say its best to use a highly qualified engineer who has a "ear" for music however I am trying to cut down on expenses releasing projects by getting more into mixing/ mastering so I had a few questions..
1. When mastering in Pro Tools, which is the best to master... Do I mix my tracks first then create a master fader and insert Izotope as a plugin and create a wav? OR do my mix, save the total file as a wav, then come back in and master just that one wav file?
2. I checked out the Digidesign site for mixing/ mastering help but some of the videos are very fast moving and sometimes are not as clear, are there any other sites or video links FREE that you think are excellent to help?
3. Is the general rule of thumb correct I heard from an engineer to keep all individual tracks between -6 and +3 for better mastering?
4. When I do create a master fader, should I reduce the volume on that fader or leave it as 0.0 and only adjust the individual tracks?
5. I have a Mbox2 and always wanted to know if I should increase the volume of the Mbox2 and lower individual tracks or master fader or they should all be tied together?
6. I currently use Izotope 3 as my mastering software, all I can afford right now, what is your suggestion on the lower end (under $200) for mastering help or even mixing?
Thanks
