Profile

To attach samples of your work to your profile page, click the Attach New Songs link at the top of your profile page. Select the Upload New Files button to upload a brand new song or select any of the songs already uploaded to your media library. Select your audio file and click the Attach to button to attach this song to your profile. Make sure to upload valid MP3 files to this section.

To fill out or edit your profile, click the blue Edit Profile & Playlist button at the top right of your profile page. Here you’ll be able to edit the information that will be visible on your profile. Remember to press Save to keep

At the very top of the Edit Profile page, you’ll find the Your Privacy Setting section with a drop down menu on the right. Here you can select whether you want your profile to be viewable by anybody, only Indaba members, no one, or only the Indaba members that you select.

The drop down menu also allows you to customize privacy settings for each individual section of your profile so that you have flexible control over what people see and don’t see.

To attach photos to your profile page, select the Attach New Photo link at the top left of your profile page. Select the Upload New Files button to upload a brand new photo or select any of the photos in your media library. Once your images are selected, select the Attach button. To set which image you’d like to be your profile photo, select the Edit/View My Photo Gallery link beneath your profile picture. To remove a photo from your gallery, click the Remove (x) link beneath your profile photo on the Edit Gallery page.

Using the Indaba Playlist widget, you can now embed the music on your profile page anywhere across the web. If you’d like to share your songs, check the Allow others to share this box to the right of your songs on your profile page.

To add the capability to share all the songs on your profile in a single playlist, check the Share full Playlist box beneath the songs on your profile. Note: If you share your playlist, all songs will be included. Even songs that you have not made shareable individually.

To create an embeddable widget of the music on your profile page, select the Share link next to a song on your profile or select the Share full Playlist link beneath your profile songs. Click the icons to share your songs on social networks like Twitter, Facebook, and Myspace or copy and paste the embed code to post your widget anywhere across the web.

The Recommended By… section on Indaba Music is where former collaborators of yours can post their reviews of you as a collaborator. These will be displayed on your profile, and only users that have collaborated on Indaba can post here.

Any other member of Indaba Music can leave comments on your profile’s discussion board.

To add someone as your contact, go to their profile page and send them a contact request. Once they confirm your friendship, they will appear in your contacts list which you can view by selecting the My Contacts link at the top right of any Indaba page. If you’re interested in a certain user but wouldn’t consider yourself a contact of theirs, you may bookmark that user so you can find them easily in the future.
