As a musician I seek to express my individual take on the world through song. I believe this is true for most people performing in any art form. It is an individual attempt to bring personal thoughts and feelings and make them accessable to the general public but also making them specific. Some of these thoughts whether in music or art take paths very similar to those which we all share. That is what makes them so true.
There sometimes comes a juncture where the art form becomes a social icon. They become so identified with us culturally that they become the target of satire, sometimes tasteful sometimes not. Here two art forms meld together into one as the Family Guy cartoon "takes on" the A-Ha cartoon in a now classic episode. Now who hasn't wondered what that would be like . It is indeed culturally appropriate.
Enjoy!
