About Streeter
Streeter

Streeter Seidell is a comedy writer and (mediocre) drummer living in Brooklyn, NY. During the day he edits the front page of CollegeHumor.com but when the sun goes down he takes his place at the helm of the Indablog. He maintains a personal blog at StreeterSeidell.com and wants to make sure you know he once wrote something for the New York Times and that it was, in the words of his mother, "Amazing! You're so talented!"

RIP LeRoi Moore

Wednesday August 20, 2008 at 09:00 AM

LeRoi Moore, saxophonist and founding member of the Dave Matthews Band, died yesterday of complications from an ATV accident.  He was 46.

I was a big Dave Matthews Band fan growing up - as I'm sure many of you were - and it's sad to see such a talented musician go so early.  DMB was certainly a musician's band and Moore was one hell of a musician.  Here's Moore playing an extended live solo during "Spoon."  I wish the video quality were a little higher but even with this kind of garbage sound you can hear just how good he was.
