About Streeter
Streeter

Streeter Seidell is a comedy writer and (mediocre) drummer living in Brooklyn, NY. During the day he edits the front page of CollegeHumor.com but when the sun goes down he takes his place at the helm of the Indablog. He maintains a personal blog at StreeterSeidell.com and wants to make sure you know he once wrote something for the New York Times and that it was, in the words of his mother, "Amazing! You're so talented!"

Instructional Awesomeness

Tuesday September 30, 2008 at 09:00 AM

Indabans, forget your economic woes for a minute if you can and instead remember what made and will hopefully continue to make us a prosperous nation: creativity.  From the lightbulb to the airplane to rock n' roll and even to the simple hamburger, Americans are an inventive people.  So if you need a little distraction from the crumbling economy and the increasingly gloomy financial future of the nation, take a few minutes to watch this cool video cobbled together from instructional music tapes.  Almost every musician has owned one of these at one point or another and, though they may teach you a few tricks here and there, they're mostly just funny.  Most of the musicians who make these tapes are kind of - and I apologize in advance if you're one of them - cheesy.  So cheesy in fact that one SNL cast member made an entire DVD making fun of them.  But here is something new.  Here is a video of a song made from three musicians, none of whom are playing together.  Enjoy (even if you just lost your savings...)!
