An Amazing Experience for Two Indaba Members!

Wednesday December 16, 2009 at 09:56 PM

In case you missed it, last year Yo-Yo Ma hosted a duet contest on Indaba Music. The co-winners of the contest, Indaba members Toshi O. and Kevin McChesney and the Pikes Peak Ringers, were given an opportunity to record live with Yo-Yo in the studio. The winning submissions were included on a release of Yo-Yo Ma's holiday album, Songs of Joy and Peace - available on iTunes.

Check out the video below for an exciting look at Toshi and the Pikes Peak Ringers amazing experience!

That's pretty cool...and perfectly demonstrates the unique potential of a venue like Indaba. Congrats to all involved.

I was lucky enough to be in the studio for this session..it was such an amazing experience to see Yo-Yo Ma spend a day in the studio recording and hanging with Toshi, Kevin, and the Pikes Peak Ringers.

Indaba music, I have not been able to realy use your site to the fullest, but I must say that the opportunities here are amazing. I was in the contest to record with Yo Yo Ma and came in at around 50th place...not bad for a not-so-good recording. To the winners, congratulations. I am envious and oh so happy for your stage in life. Hey, I would play tiddly winks with Yo Yo Ma. So the opportunity to actually share the passion for music with such a kind and peaceful soul has got to be liberating to say the least.
