DAVID MARION began his musical career at the age of 6 playing snare drum and clarinet in a marching band called Le Réveil de Montmorency. By 10, he changed his focus from clarinet to the drum kit and, then, began his career in bass guitar at the age of 16.
To further cultivate his interest as a bass player, he attended C.I.M., a jazz music institute located in his native land of Paris, France. During that period, he also took lessons from Francis Darizcuren and Pascal Mulot.
From there, DAVID MARION continued his studies and obtained a scholarship to attend Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA, where he studied with teachers like Fernando Huergo, Bob Doezema and Danny Morris.
After a few lessons with Peter Giron from The American School of Modern Music, David also got the opportunity to take lessons with the great VICTOR WOOTEN from Bela Fleck and the Flecktones, STEVE BAILEY and ADAM NITTI at the Bass/Nature Camp in Nashville, TN.
Raised as a Christian and inspired by artists like Fred Hammond and Kirk Franklin, he gained more experience by playing with Gospel bands and choirs (New Gospel Family, Jo Ann Pickens, Gospel Act, Maggie Blanchard, Exo...). Since then, he has performed world-wide with numerous acts (in Europe, Australia, Africa, Pacific, South America, Canada...) and appeared in various TV and radio shows (Hit Machine, Top of the Pop, Breakfast Television, Urban Rush, 20h10 pétante, Channel M Hello J, CTV Canada AM, KTO, CBC, Fréquence Jazz...).

Hey how did you get your profile pic in the "obama hope" style?
your versiion of "Don't Believe a Word" sounds pretty good,you gave it an interesting some what different feel that is a little laid back and a tad behind the beat and sometimes pushing the beat.
I think you achieved what you were looking for...I would say,"Roots meets David Marion".

David your DBAW groove remix is off the hook man! I never thought I would like this song slowed down, I always wanted it to be more of a rock song, but this is good stuff! My vote goes for you.
