- How I Work:
I'm open to fresh takes on whatever genre you're into since I'm big believer in pushing the boundaries setup by the music business.
If I'm inspired by your sound and style, I'll work with you, and if I'm not, I won't, so don't take it personally, it's just my biased point of view, which shouldn't really matter if you're deeply committed to your method/style/sound and not just trying to sound like what every one else is doing at the moment.
I tend to work fast and don't believe in spending more than 10 (collective) hours on a project.
I release most of my original work through various digital retail outlets through my own imprint Mobile Global Trax. If we collaborate and decide the results are good enough to go to market with, I'd prefer to release through my imprint and split the revenue (percentage will be based on level of contribution by collaborators, which we'll work out before any production time is clocked). If you have your own label up and running, we can work out a shared release deal as well. I have my own publishing company and go through ASCAP.
- Experience:
Professional DJ since '78, producing records since 1987, remixing since 1989, running record labels since 1991. Difficult since birth.
- Equipment:
I switch setups frequently as to not got locked into one method of writing since I get easily bored with the technical aspects of production.
I've worked in a wide variety of settings from strictly analog setups with musicians, recording straight to 1/4 inch tape on a16 track mixing desk to collaborating via IM or download with stems on a laptop.
my current minimalist set up;
Macbook running Ableton Live 8, Garageband 5.2, Kore player, m-audio O2 USB keyboard controller, Behringer BCM2000 midi controller
