it's officially SUMMER, and in california the temperature is in the hundreds, and the air is filled with smoke from hundreds of fires set off by lightning this weekend.
yep, it's that lovely time of year when one either gets up at 4 AM (i am not THAT dedicated!) to get in studio time before it warms up,
or drips sweat over a mixing board or into a microphone,
or turns on a noisy air conditioner and ends the session.
just curious = HOW DO YA'LL HANDLE THE HEAT?
(this pic was the first time i used the TIMER function on my camera - it cracks me UP)

admin - have you given any thought to a mechanism whereby we are alerted to new posts on a session we're part of?
sometimes a session can languish for days, weeks, and months. it would be GREAT to receive an email (like we get when a message has been sent) telling us someone has posted a comment or audio file to the session.
just my 2 cents' worth - and HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Gilly Slinn added her unique perspective to A Child Is Born - a traditional Christmas tune which has new meaning for me with the birth of my first grandson. I invite you to listen!

happy camper,

hi, folks. we're sisters Anne & Marty - and we don't seem to be able to stop singing.
we were brought up to believe that if you were proud of your accomplishments, you were VAIN, NARCISSISTIC, EGOTISTICAL, a whole buncha yucky adjectives. so we WANTED people to hear us, but were too ashamed to ask them to listen. then one fateful day in 1998, i heard an acapella singer on Soundclick that was SOOOOOOOOO bad, that's all the permission i needed.
we're not too technically astute, and my mixing skills consist of twiddling the volume and pan knobs, but HEY - that's good enough for us! tho we can't play for beans, we've hooked up with some most excellent musicians across the globe on collaborations. as one who has always wanted instant gratification, i am amazed that i've learned focus, patience, more focus and more patience when working on a song. to be able to create something and have it be in the world is incredibly wonderful. at the age of 56, i find i have LOTS more songs in me, and my sister does too. i feel some pressure to get them out NOW - cuz we're gonna look pretty silly at the ripe old age of 76 trying our hand at Metal. ;) we have no illusions of Making It Big - we're just two gals who like to yodel - keeps us off the streets, too.
i think this site is great and i am super happy to have found it, thanks to David A, a member here. UP WITH MUSIC!
big sis anne
