Frantz Eddy Daniel jr. was born in Port-au-Prince Haiti. He began studying the Piano at the age of six. At the age of 16 he added another instrument the cello. He played in “The Mini Orchestra”, “The Little Chamber Orchestra” and "The Holy Trinity Philharmonic Orchestra", the most prestigious Orchestra in Haiti. In 1997 two of his violinist friend James Racine and Jean Hevert Figaro joined him in forming their first group New Age Trio. In 2000 he officially started his solo career when he performed for the first time as a soloist with the Holy Trinity Orchestra under the direction of David Cesar. The same year he recorded the soundtrack for The Legend of Quisqueya, a play based on the book of the same name by famous Haitian writer Margaret Papillion. Frantz’s music describes his passion for exploration and discovery. His musical inspiration comes from a blend of classical, contemporary, jazz, Haitian folk music
and world influences. It is not surprising that some of his favorite composers are Beethoven, Vangelis, Secret Garden, Yanni and Haitian composers such as J. Elie, J.Lherisson, Raoul Denis Jr and Reginald Policard. He expresses those influences through pieces like “Awakening” instantly uplifting, the powerful “Ascension” which is written based on an African Rhythm Yanvalou, the sensual “Looking into you eyes” and “The Legend of Quisqueya” which paints Haiti during the time of the Indians. Since 2004 he has been performing with his new band F.E.D AND FRIENDS.
For Frantz, Dreams can be the one of the biggest source of inspiration and motivation until they are materialized. Some of his goals are to continue to compose music that defies borders and speaks to people of all nations, record albums and perform in front of audiences around the world. He also wishes to use his music to benefit different humanitarian causes in Haiti and around the world. Frantz Eddy’s performances include four concerts as a soloist with The Holy Trinity Orchestra in Haiti from 2000 to 2003, FED AND FRIENDS Live in Florida in 2004, Night of a Thousand Stars Louisville Kentucky in 2005, and The CUNY WIDE TALENT SHOW held in New York City in which he won First place in March 2005. This past August F.E.D AND FRIENDS won 2 gold medals and 2 industry awards representing Haiti at the 2006 World Championships of Performing Arts in Hollywood, California.
On December 20th 2006 Frantz Eddy was awarded THE 2006 INTERNATIONAL MUSIC AWARD in the BEST COMPOSITION category for his piece "Reflection," which will be featured on the Music Aid Awards CD. Frantz Eddy will also receive a presentation Gold Disc from The Music Aid Organization for his work.
