I've played guitar most of my life, and been writing songs just as long. Back in the 90's I sang and played in a band called Fifty Diamond Rocks; we had some modest radio play here in Canada and Northeastern US. Since then I've been writing songs and working with other artists. I've co-written songs with John DeGiuli (Honeymoon Suite) for his 2003 solo record, and Haydain Neale (Jacksoul), among others.
I'm finally taking songwriting and producing more seriously and trying to go to the next level. I'm continually growing as an engineer, musician, writer and producer. Lately I've taken to country music; listening, loving and writing. My greatest writing strength is as a lyricist, so going where the lyric is king makes sense. As a guitar player and coming from a rock background, I also love the electropop stuff; Dr. Luke's work in particular.
Indaba has been a cool place to hang out, and I've been entering the remix contests to sharpen my craft. I tend to try to remix songs into something more commercial, rather than turn them into something 'artistic'. OK, let me clarify that...I usually choose songs that are not techno songs...and I approach them in an effort to serve the song best, not to serve the song to a different audience or genre. So maybe that makes me more of a producer type than a remixer. Whatever. 'Commercial' is not a dirty word, as long as there's integrity behind it. I'm grateful for the opportunities, and for getting a chance to hear all the talented, creative people on here. Especially you techno freaks :)

- Favorite Lyric:
Indoor Fireworks - Elvis Costello
We play these parlour games
We play at make believe
When we get to the part where I say that I'm going to leave
Everybody loves a happy ending but we don't even try
We go straight past pretending
To the part where everybody loves to cry(chorus)
Indoor fireworks
Can still burn your fingers
Indoor fireworks
We swore we were safe as houses
They're not so spectacular
They don't burn up in the sky
But they can dazzle or delight
Or bring a tear
When the smoke gets in your eyesYou were the spice of life
The gin in my vermouth
And though the sparks would fly
I thought our love was fireproof
Sometimes we'd fight in public darling
With very little cause
But different kinds of sparks would fly
When we got on our own behind closed doors(chorus)
It's time to tell the truth
These things have to be faced
My fuse is burning out
And all that powder's gone to waste
Don't think for a moment dear that we'll ever be through
I'll build a bonfire of my dreams
And burn a broken effigy of me and you(chorus)
