Michael McLaughlin

I'm a recent graduate from The Pennsylvania State University. I began playing music in the second grade when I picked up the trombone. I continued with the trombone for 7 years and played in the school band and jazz band. When I was 12, I also began playing the guitar. For the first several years that I played guitar, I wasn't serious about writing original material, and was happy to just jam along with my CDs and with friends. When I started college, writing and recording music was a way to escape the noise of living with five other people. In the summer of 08, I picked up a copy of CuBase and began to refine my production work and make much higher quality recordings than ever before.

Growing up, I've been influences by many styles of music. At a very young age I appreciated alternative rock, R&B, blues rock and some jazz. As I got older, I went through a metal phase and an old-school punk phase. Most recently I've added indie pop, dream pop, trip-hop and adult contemporary to my list of influences.
