I'm an aspiring musician living in Edmonton wanting to join/start a band. The bands that i've listed in my influences section are together, a grouping a bands that I would like to loosely base my style from. I love the simple beats that The Raveonettes and MGMT produce, and I also really enjoy the raw low-fi sound of No Age and the White stripes. I'm really into the loud ambient wall of sound that comes out of Brian Aubert from the Silversun Pickups, I feel like they are possibly my most influential band.
- How I Work:
How I work...hmmm....I just really want to start a band, thats it. I have a few riffs that I've been working on, and I'm interested in meeting a solid drummer who could throw down on them, or even send me some drum tracks to meddle around with
- Experience:
I've mostly done solo gigs - not going to lie, I'm familiar in the ways of the "open mic" sets. However, i have been in a few starting bands playing basement shows and coffee shop shows, nothing huge, I've played in Alberta and Ontario to date. I guess the point I'm trying to get across here is that I have experience creating music with a band, and I have also played in front of people, so I'm comfortable with musical collaboration
- Equipment:
I play a Hagstrom Swede and a Fender Tele through a Vox AD50VT semi-tube amp. I currently have the basics for pedals, a Korg pitch black tuner, Electroharm Big Muff PI w/ Wicker, and the Line 6 DL4 loop pedal (which gives me that silversun pickups lazy eye instrumental sound).
