Born into a family full of DJs, Antoine began developing his taste for music at an early age. At age 10, he was already messing around with his cousin's turntables, making mix tapes of his favourite music, which expanded far beyond the musical likes of the average 5th grader. By the time he was 12, Antoine was already well into his musical development. While training his voice in the school choir, the straight-A student began learning to read music and play the keyboard, as well as the clarinet.
Feeling like she could not raise her children properly in the notoriously dangerous neighbourhood of Glendower, Antoine’s mother moved him and his family from Scarborough to Brampton, a working class city located just west of Toronto. It was here that 13-year-old Antoine began writing rap lyrics to commercial beats, and recording himself with a mic built-in to his computer monitor. Continuing to develop his song writing skills, Antoine began to compose music with a very limited collection of audio equipment; including a hand-me-down Casio keyboard with some missing keys, a stage mic, and computer software. As time went on, Antoine continued to produce and record songs for himself, as well as many other local artists.
By the time Antoine finished high school, he had written and produced over 100 songs, performed live on national television, garnered local radio play and had offers from several independent record labels. Even with all his success thus far, he decided to play it safe and study Computer Programming in college. But with the stress of his mounting student loans and a dead-end desk job in sight, Antoine refused to give up on his passion and decided to pursue a career in the music business. While studying Audio Engineering and Music Production, he started Upstage Music Publishing with long-time friend David Alexander. Together they plan to make Upstage the top resource for record labels and other music companies seeking outstanding composition, productions, and related music services.
Now, at the age of 21, Antoine has expanded his musical palette beyond the rap genre, composing and writing urban pop music as well. With his signature sound comprised of heavy drums blended with harmonic synthesizers, and topped off with memorable melodies and hooks, the outcome is nothing short of beautiful. Like
superstar hitmakers Prince, Pharrell Williams and Timbaland before him, this prolific songwriter/producer offers his unique talents to artists and performers looking to fuel their careers with his distinctive sound.
