About Me

Skill Level:
Amateur
Craft:
singer, songwriter, musician
Instruments:
voice (baritone), acoustic guitar
Genres:
rock, folk, folk rock, blues-rock
Influences:
Aerosmith, U2, Juan Luis Guerra, The Police, Moxy Früvous, The Beatles, Paul Simon, Oingo Boingo, Simon and Garfunkel, Billy Joel, Bob Marley, Danny Elfman, Dire Straits, John Lennon

I picked up a guitar for the first time at the end of my senior year in high school, and I'm now a sophomore in a PA State University. I've been singing for as long as I can remember, and my long-standing dream as far as music has been concerned is to be the singer for a small, 4-7 or so piece band. Finding one, though, has been a bit of trouble. Which is why I'm here :)

Extended

Favorite Lyric:

"Takes more than combat boots to make a man,
takes more than a license for a gun.
Confront your enemies, avoid them when you can,
a gentleman will walk but never run." -Sting

Working With Others

How I Work:

whaaatever.

Experience:

Of course I went through all the choir stuff in high school and before, and in high school I started an all guys' a cappella group called Fermata Nowhere (the name wasn't my idea :P). I sang in a vocal jazz group for a couple years, and I'm currently in a Latin Jazz Band on my campus that's run by one of the music school professors. I play open mic nights on my own when I get the chance, usually just acoustic stuff, and I finally got some people together into a standard 4-piece band that practices once a week.

Equipment:

Shure SM-58 Mic, as well as a few others specifically for recording
2-track M-Audio Preamp for recording directly to GarageBand
GarageBand
Samick electric guitar
generic brand acoustic
Martin Backpacker guitar
a lot of random instruments like shaker eggs and pan pipes

Thanks for the compliment. I look forward to hearing something you've done. Are you going to upload any of your work?

Right on, thanks. Stella was the first time I tried layering the guitar melody with two simultaneous tracks (recorded independently). Usually it's all one take. Cheers!
