Professionally, I am a wildlife biologist with a focus on bioacoustics. I am currently working for a non-profit organization called Freshwaters Illustrated out of Corvallis,OR as a photographer/videographer. We focus on freshwater ecosystem/river restoration coverage and produce documentaries on these efforts. My mission is to work with organizations/companies that utilize multimedia outlets to increase public awareness of wildlife habit restoration and preservation. Throughout my 4+ years doing research, my focus has been on threatened and endangered species and their habitat preservation. I gained an interest in bioacoustics while in the field studying bats, and having access to ultrasonic detecting/recording gear. I was able to start a side project on flying squirrels and their ultrasonic "language" used to hunt, navigate while flying, and communicating with each other. I create field recordings using a parabolic dish, a pair of stereo electret condenser microphones, recording into an Iriver iHP-140; I also use (nowadays) the Zoom H4. I have composed electro-acoustic pieces that explore the sounds of nature as they clash/meld with human society's vast array of sounds. I work with Cubase LE, Synapse Audio Orion Platinum, Native Instruments Kontakt 2, Wingrain, and a vast array of VST processing modules.

Hey Matt, thanks for the comment truly.
I really enjoy listen to the moods you created, really provoke and induce one to imagine places.
Congratulations and keep on this path that it is the right one hehe!

I appreciate all of your feedback! I will gladly post some new material (including field recordings,etc...) here shortly. I have lots of random (and short) rough cuts/experiments I can post as well, if you're interested (let me know!) Thanks!

The recording you've put up are awesome. You should check out my song 'lonely star singer', similiar idea but with exclusively mechanical sounds, and a little less free form.

Really interesting sounds.
Haven't heard them all yet, but I'll be back !
Take Care,
Cae

Woah, this is really good, and in the spectrogram of Test Tone Override there's a part that looks like a fingerprint. That is awesome.

This is a truly unique sound that you've created. For some reason it reminds me of the Illustrated man, by Ray Bradbury.
