Noveau Machina

Wednesday July 16, 2008 at 11:18 AM

For everyone who didn't know, my computer finally bit the dust. It's old Asus Motherboard just fizzled out on me about a month or so ago. Needless to say that I have aquired a new computer, and no it's not stolen. Haha, funny Joe. Anyways, of course I started once again making tracks and whatnot and I pieced together a track that I hope you'll all swing by and take a listen to. If you have any feedback or comments, always feel free to let me know. I love constructive criticism. I Hope everyone has been well in my absence and look forward to playing with everyone once more.

May in review / Reflections

Wednesday June 04, 2008 at 03:50 PM

May has been the craziest of months for me. Hardly had any time to work on music due to insane work hours and just coming home and collapsing into a coma. I'll be honest, the paychecks are good, but man was it killer. Aside from that, when I did have a chance, I pieced together something that I like to call Reflections, it's up on the page as usual. Feel free to shoot me any feedback if you have any  and as always,  Keep on Rocking everyone :D

Updates and upgrades, etc

Saturday April 19, 2008 at 08:23 PM

Updated my profile to include more bands and such. I also need to further update because I only added info in relation to electronic music. I did however have other "phases" if you will that I went through which enlightened me to other platforms and genres of music.

Upgraded recently from Magix Music Maker v.10 to 12. I am only impressed with two functions that are new, first off is obviously the new soundbank that is available for me to tweak with, the other is the Revolta Midi Creator, which is COMPLETLY awesome. Opens a whole new style of sound to me and I am spending alot of time toying around with that.

Promotional Opportunity at work is underway, where I will no longer be a Delivery Driver / Handyman / Network Consultant, to a Delivery Driver / Salesperson. I'll have more details within a few weeks, but I've already been told it will be a Salary Position with Commision to boot.

Recently I have left alot of sessions due to my inactivity and personal failure to be able to flow with others people's ideas and rhythm. Sucks alot, nothing personal involved. My only Sessions that has done really well has been Kaleidoscope and Perseverance. Both of which I was the beginning sound which leads me to believe that I am creative enough at this juncture to be able to make something that inspires others to add their flair to it, but not quite experienced enough to able to contribute towards already active, amazing, ideas and sounds.

That I do believe is it, all fronts covered for the time being, Neo Atonement is up for listening on my page, feel free to swing by give it a listen. It started in MM 10 then exported as wav to 12 then further added on top of using the new alterations in the sound bank.

Till  Next time, Same Rob Time, Same Rob Channel,

Rob

P.S. Keep on rocking everyone :)

New Horizons

Monday March 24, 2008 at 04:48 PM

So, it's been a couple weeks since my last post and wanted to update everyone as to my current state and progress. As far as work outside of music goes, I've recently been hired by the biggest dry cleaner in the Northwest United States to do Delivery Driving for them.  It's not a full time position but it's something to help feed us some much needed monetary funds, so I will not complain.

Work inside music has taken a nice turn. I picked up a Musical Encyclopedia CD-Rom disk so that I can establish and familiarize myself more on the terms and functionality of Composition and other Definitions that pertain to music in general. It also has different sounds from different musical instruments also included so I can hear and see EXACTLY what a Clarinet, or Oboe, or Tubular Bells, look and sound like. It's way cool. In short, I'm learning myself good :).

Also starting on a new project, called Atonement. It's a nice piece, lacks alot of depth and feel. Almost too repitious at current in my oppinion. I really need to work on it some more before I post it up for everyone to hear. However, if you'd like a sneak peak, feel free to e-mail me at Fallenforge@gmail.com or message me here with your e-mail address and I'll mail you a peak and you can give me some feedback too.

New Job, Club Spade, etc etc

Saturday March 08, 2008 at 11:18 AM

I'm very happy to announce that I have a new job secured now so I am finally able to start working on my music once again with a bit more vigor. Also compiled my first sound bank that I playfully call Club Spade. What I'm hoping to do with it is remix some of my old tunes via Club Spade and breathe some fresh wind into their sails. Also I'll be using that particular sound bank for future endeavors as well.  The first mix that I did, is my favorite song that I've done thus far, Perseverance.  It's on my page, feel free to take a listen, I'll take any and all feedback. Was thinking about doing Onward next. Then going forth from there onto new and exciting projects. Kaleidoscope has definatly picked up since I've been semi-active. We have alot of VERY talented Artists working on the piece as well which has me completly excited. I'm hoping to devote myself back into that session a good bit this weekend and get some much needed cleaning up done as well, on top of my work schedule. Busy, busy, busy, is the name of the game, and if nothing gets done, who is to blame, lol. Thanks everyone for your continual support.

So my friend Joe Firentello, who is an amazing individual and an excellent guitarist, showed me this link yesterday. The coolest aspect  of it is that you can upload any song to it and it will make a racetrack. The gamplay itself, as Joe so elegantly put it, is a cross between Bejeweled and Fruequency / Amplitude / and Guitar Hero. Pretty cool if you ask me.

No more free time

Wednesday February 27, 2008 at 03:30 PM

Hi everyone. Rob here, unfortunatly my past 2 weeks of job hunting have come up fruitless in my endeavors. (i.e. bad leads to Insurance Companies and interviews that I think have gone well with no call back or no call back at all). At least I was able to get as much done for Annie and her family as possible before going this route.  Anyways, I may not be around as much as I'd like, and my music unfortunaty is coming to a schreeching hault untill I have at least secured some sub standard job for a flow of income as my savings account is rapidly decreasing inch by inch. I've had a lot of fun these past two weeks and worked alongside and met some of the most talented Artist that I have had the pleasure of meeting. However, I'll only be checking messeges so feel free to drop me a line when you can and I'll try to write back when I get a chance. Feel free to send me invites to sessions as I wont deny them, but I will not be able to accept them until I have some time to do so. I'll be in touch. I know you guys will keep this place rocking till I can afford to pay for my free time.

Rob

Annie! We love you and we miss you very much! May your memory be in our hearts Always!

Proud to be an Amateur.

I'll be honest, I'm an ameteur at musical art. True heartedly so. I'm still excited every time I come across a new button or knob on my computer programs and I wanna run every sample .wav, .ogg, or .mp3 file that I have under it and see what it sounds like on the other side. I still don't understand all the expressions and phrases everyone uses, but I'm learning. I  keep trying, tweaking, altering, adding, removing, and most of all, persevering (funny, but true).
Ameteur is what it says on my profile and that's where I'm proud to be, having fun learning everything one day at a time.
Perseverance (Club Sonar Remix)

Monday February 18, 2008 at 11:01 AM

WOW...as soon as I heard the remix that Marc V. had so beautifully done on his electric guitar I knew that it was the missing piece to Perseverance that I had been hoping for. Makes me wish I was in concert and could yell "AND GIVE IT UP FOR MARC V.!" Undoubtably beautiful the way it ended out, for the original that I was IMMEDIATLY INSPIRED to port it over to the extended mix that I had been working on. Hoping to add more and if anyone wishes to contribute to the piece, feel free. BIG thumbs up to MARC V.! what are you doing here? Go visit his site and say hi too! You see his face on my contacts! Session Stuff

Saturday February 16, 2008 at 06:35 PM

Ok so I'm really excited! A fellow Indaba member has allowed me to join their session to see if I can add anything and I'm all worried and slightly paranoid because I've never joined an already existing session and I uploaded a small wave to add to it. Then I listened to the remix that has already been up before I joined the session and I think it sounds completly gorgious. I don't think I really compare to the greatness of this group.Which is possibly why I only added a small wave to start on this because in my oppinion it's hard to improve upon the greatness of that Mix.I wanted to  Also one of the first people I met here on Indaba, joined my session for Perseverance, and I can't wait to see what he'll add there as well. Plus there's new updates on Monday. Greatness around every corner it seems.
