About Me

Skill Level:
Semi-Pro
Craft:
session musician, magician, film composer
Instruments:
Bass
Genres:
reggae highlife, salsa, jazz-funk, soul blues, groove, acoustic rock, instrumental pop, chicago blues, hard rock, instrumental rock, instrumental, adult contemporary, funky breaks, funk rock, rhythm and blues (r&b)

I like most genres of music & like to exercise a little variety ever so often. My ears help me follow others & I love to stick out on a solo when it's my time. Open communication here- I usually record a couple of takes twice a week...I don't want anyone's money.
I know this site well enough to contribute in sessions & collaborations. Ask me in & lets get started!

Working With Others

How I Work:

I am here to find others interested in making new music. I check this site regularly & communicate my ideas. I don't hang out in a session if I'm not going to contribute. Open to others criticism & arrangement guidance.

Experience:

Picked up the 4-string in Jan. 2000. I soon started lessons twice a week with Gary Checkeye from Indy at Guitarsworks. He explained basic music theory such as: major & minor scales, modes, changing keys, reading bass & treble clefs, open improve with these tools. I was lucky to have such a great teacher for those 2 yrs. I've been practicing alone since & looking for a band- Well, I have found Indaba!

Equipment:

Schector 4-string electric bass
Michael Kelly 5-string acoustic bass
I use my thumb & fingers, not too good with a pic.
I record on a laptop with free Audacity program.
Behringer 1/4in usb interface (cheap)

I plan to upgrade eventually.

What can I say? Masterful bass guitar work. I particularly like 'Have You Ever'. All the posted samples are very creative, and the recording quality is spot on.
Keep rockin' Daniel ....... Sounds great!
