About Me

Skill Level:
Semi-Pro
Craft:
musician
Instruments:
electric bass, fretless bass
Genres:
rock, hard rock, funk (all), jazz, fusion, new age, world, heavy metal, progressive rock
Influences:
A Perfect Circle, Tool, Peter Gabriel, Toad The Wet Sprocket, Audioslave, Soundgarden, Bela Fleck and The Flecktones, Kitaro, Live, Broken Poets, Artemis, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Primus, Vangelis, Andreas Vollenweider

I play electric 5 string bass guitar. Fretted and Fretless. About the only specific is that I love to create and play new songs. And like to play in odd time signatures, but not exclusively. Otherwise, if I hear the potential in your song, and it hits me in the gut so to speak. I'll probably have some interest in creating a bass line for it regardless of genre.

Working With Others

How I Work:

I do this for free as a hobby. For the love and enjoyment of creating and playing music. I appreciate constructive criticism, feedback, and communication. Let's make some great music! :D

Experience:

I've been playing music since I was a young child, so approximately 30 years. Bass guitar I have been playing for 17 years. I've played in numerous working bands. So I've had my share of gigging and stage experience playing locally and regionally.

thanks for the kind words! that's funny because I can't even hear the radiohead in my voice lol...but maybe its a subconscious thing. maybe when i sing wordless falsetto phrases...i say maybe.

as for the drums, i have to give credit to www.guitar.sk and the Drumsite software..it's pretty kickass and it's shareware, fully functional except unable to save files...someday if they make their user interface more stable i might put down the money for a copy. it came with a great set of samples as well - i still use most of them.

I'm Recording everything on a Tascam DR-01 Portable Recorder. its to the left of my kit to get more hi hat and crash and less of the booming noises. There's not much i can do right now as of turning down the levels for crash because it will turn down everything else.

Funny Thing, a portion of why i play drums now is the drummer for broken poets (was for "everything in nature" and maybe Optimism in E minor, not sure about that one though) is my uncle. so its kinda cool to see the conection other people have with them.

How Do You Know Broken Poets? Russ Phaneuf? Know Him? Tim MacDonald?
