- How I Work:
I am open to suggestions and to all kinds of music.
I travel frequently, so there may be a possibility of working face to face.
I can read music, but my sight reading is far below a classical musicians standard. I learn rapidly by ear, as this has been the focus of all my training.
- Experience:
Since 1997 I've been spending a lot of time learning cimbalom from Roma (gypsy) musicians in Romania, Hungary, Moldova and Slovakia.
Numerous band and recording projects within Australia.
Some film score work.
Some guest musician work in other genres (folk/pop, singer/songwriters etc).
- Equipment:
Mogyorossy Gyula cimbalom (Schunda). Pre WW2 era.
Nagy Akos cimbalom. c1996
Tambal mic (Romanian small cimbalom - not a type of microphone!)
Many other acoustic/unusual instruments: gut-strung bass, harmonetta, doromb (big jew's harp), reed organ, wurlitzer electric theatre organ, ukes, percussion.

Greetings Clankenstein!
Love the handle. onomatopoeiac.
I assume you figured out my interest is because we both love the cimbalom. I'd love to know more of what you are doing and have with it. I wish I had paying work to offer, but I'm just a session guy myself at this point.
I'd also appreciate any constructive criticism. I don't actually play it, but I have loved it's sounds since childhood. You can hear samples of my use of a synthesized cimbalom here on Indaba on "Tango de Miserendino" and my collaboration "Respect then Love". Any feedback is welcome, but don't feel obliged either.
I hope we can find a way to collaborate someday.
By the way, in case you are not already aware of it, you should enjoy http://www.cimbalom.nl/
