Dominic Matar is a New York-based songwriter and composer. He started studying classical piano as a child at the conservatory of Neuilly-sur-Seine, France, where he grew up. Following his undergraduate studies at Yale University, he moved to New York City in 2002.

His soundtrack credits include music for documentaries, commercials, and various promotional videos for clients such as Nike Considered, Novartis, and Citibank. In addition to his composition work, he writes indie pop music. He was selected by ASCAP as an up-and-coming songwriter to participate in the "Paul Cunningham Songwriters Workshop" in 2008, and was selected for an ASCAPLUS Award for songwriters in 2009 and 2010. He also received an Honorable Mention for his song "Don't You Worry" at the 2009 Unisong International Songwriting Competition.

He released an album with Die Romantik ("Narcissist's Waltz", 2007) , which was listed as one of NYC's hottest bands of 2007 by the Deli Magazine and was a MySpace Featured Artist. The band performed at venues such as Bowery Ballroom, Mercury Lounge, and Hiro Ballroom. Dominic is currently working on his first solo album, due in 2010.
