About Me

Skill Level:
Semi-Pro
Craft:
session musician
Instruments:
electric guitar
Genres:
progressive metal

I've been experimenting with music for 25 years. I find it extremely arduous to try to turn a lot personal positives into some grand music career... that really didn't make a lot of money. Suffice it to say - I like playing, recording, and composing Progressive Rock and Heavy Metal. I'm not concerned with the monitary success or failure of the endeavor

Extended

Day Job:
Commercial Driver

Working With Others

How I Work:

I prefer to have access to a snippet or part of a finished or unfinished piece, minus the missing instrument desired (preferably with bpm info and possibly a sync track of some sort). I would then write a part as an audition to determine if my approach is valid to the project admin. We can then go from there... is this going to be a Commercial project? Creative Commons? Do you want a session player with no ties? ...etc. Then we just start bouncing ideas and examples 'till project completion.

Experience:

25 years... live and studio.

Equipment:

Guitars are Charvel Model 6 and Yamaha RGZ series (modified - shaved neck and the Lynch Screamin' Demon).

Guitar Amps are Mesa Boogie Strategy 500 and a Rectifier, Stereo Pevey 4x2 with Celestion GK85s, 57 & 58 mics on cab with Oktavia 210 to catch the throw.

My guitar pre-amp/effects section is ADA MP1, ART Alpha, ART Stereo Compressor in conjunction with ACER Laptop/E-MU 1616 SoundCard running Guitar Rig 3. I'm using a Beringer Mini-Mixer to combine signal before the amp.

Also using Charvel SC Series Accoustic Electric - miced with MX mic and Sure 58 Mics... I combo it with direct signal to Direct Box and into the board.

Studio is a 16-ch Fostex 450 Board (old but still effective after tuning Sherwood Monitoring system (Tuned flat from 20hz-17khz using PAS). I use an old ADATXT as an 8-ch A/D Converter to Steinberg VSL2020 Card (also use the onboard sound card inputs as well).

Sequencer Program is Steinberg Cubase SX3 - Tons of effects... currently running on P4 HT 3.2 self-built PC

Drums are a home-made trigger kit (out of Remo Practice Pad Kit (various custom mods for triggers), Zildjian Cymbals and Battery 3.

Keyboard is Korg X3 running tons of virtual synth software.

Bass is Jackson PS5 (despite the name, it's really a 4-string Bass).
