THE BIG PIECE

1975-Born. 1978-Heard music in Ma's Chevy Vega on the way to preschool. 1984-Listened to Club Style on WDMT 108 FM. 1987-Wrote 1st rhyme. 1988-Joined rap crew S.O.K., which evolved into Beneath Society and later Mental Kase, whose members now form the rap supergroup Game Official. 1989-Made 1st studio recording with S.O.K. at Reel Tracks, engineered by Mixmaster Quick. 1990-Worked summer job at Phyllis Wheatley recreation center to buy a 4 track cassette recorder. Got a Boss Dr. Rhythm drum machine for Christmas. About 100 songs were done with this setup over the next couple years. 1991-Lost a battle by not taking opponent or self seriously. A lesson well learned. 1993-Formed rap duo Grim Precision with Rhythm Maker Spade AKA Alvin Frazier, who is now a successful instrumentalist and composer. 1997-Disgusted with hip hop, decided to stop rapping altogether. A punk move at worst, irresponsible at best. Joined allstar beat crew n'fra-red beet seekers. 1998-Began internship at Bucchanan Recording Complex. 2002-Graduated from Full Sail and began freelancing any and every gig available. 2005-Joined science funktion beat band Darkstarz. 2006-At the insistence of many, encouragement from the wife, and a foot in the ass from Vigatron began writing again. 2008-Currently working with Vig on new Unpros material and doing shows locally. Also working with LoLo AKA NeverBeen on Kung Fu Zodiac Lovers. Beats are being built for THE BIG PIECE solo project, Henchman Chic.
