I specialize in making music sound good.

Weather it is Mixing and Mastering your already existing tracks, vocal session work or Song productions from the ground up. I enjoy the process of working with other who have a passion and love for music.

Singing is my first love and I'm very passionate about getting the right take and also enjoy the production aspects of the projects. I'd like to formally credit Jeff Buckley and Chris Cornell for inspiring me to find my voice and Mary Guibert who encouraged me to continue pursue a singing career. I was mentored by my Grandfather and Father who passed they're knowledge from working with the likes of Bill Putnum, Frank Sinatra, and Warner Brothers. I use the "old school" approach on most things and embrace new technology to get the job done efficiently. When it comes to vocal sessions, I do work to make it a "One Take" session. I love working with others and find that any "problem" is just another excuse to "kick its butt". I also, like Chris Farley (may he rest in peace), enjoy putting "quotations" around words. : )

Working With Others

How I Work:

Every situation is unique. There is some basic outlines we can go by and then figure out the best solution for the project.
A session includes the final vocal takes, lead and back, the studio time, and working with you until your satisfied with them. And of course, using the best mic's and gear for the application. 2-7 days is the turn around for each song. And again, every situation is unique, so please contact me and we can work out what is best for each project.

EXAMPLE 1
You have a song basically done but want me to sing the lead and harmonies for you.

1. You send me a track with the scratch vocals on the music and one with the music only.
2. I sing the lead track and send you back a scratch file to review for any changes you might want.
3. I make any changes and sing the final take 3 times and send those takes back to you for you to use to finalize your mix.
4. I also usually make a "comp" of the best of the takes. I'll add reverb etc. and mix it into the song for you.

Experience:

7 albums
4 EP's
59 songs
Thousands of hours on Pro Tools.
Extensive Knowledge of Gear Applications. (preferably Vintage)

David, Sorry it took so long to get back to you. I take a summer break from studio work. Just getting my feet wet again this year. Anyway, mastering tracks huh?! Cool and yes I do need that service from time to time. I should shoot you a track to make few passes on so I can hear your input and get an Idea of your ears. Let me know if that would be good.

Thank you very much, David. The orchestration for Princess Lament was written by composer, Sir Michael Schrattbauer. If you click on the song title, you should be able to see the song details. :)

Past silverlake actually lol, south of Covina in Hacienda Heights... It's far, but it's mellow and cheap.

Ryan John wrote on February 14, 2009:

I live just east of LA, so I'm not actually downtown. I just moved here from San Fran, so I don't actually work down in a facility down here, not really know anyone... You drive down here to work once in a while?

Eric Conn wrote on January 21, 2009:

Nice work. Very ethereal and emotional vocal parts. Bono-esque.

Adam Glazier wrote on January 18, 2009:

Singing Landscapes is such a great track. I especially like the restraint on the vocals mixed with the lush orchestral parts. And the muffled signing in the outro is a nice touch.

Um, it's taken me a while to reply as well. I thank you for showing me this site. Hope you are experiencing creative inspiration.

Thank you David and I appreciate your comment. I love your track too but you or I wont get near the judges because of the ridiculous idea that the more friends you have, the better your chances?
If the judges could be fucked to get off their arses and judge by hearing and not by a top ten determined by popularity, the results would be a whole lot different.
I also agree with the fact that the judges should vote as should the public. Would love to see those results!
Take care and thank you for your kind words!
