Where is everyone?

I would think that, given the reality of the absence of jam sessions, open discussions or any representations of a viable "scene", more progressive minded musicians would be in tune to the potential of what's being offered here or thje ones involved would chime in a bit more frequently. It's time to step on the accelerator folks..... The meter's running.

Thanks Greg - we're glad you think this community has the potential to be an important place for progressive-minded musicians.

we've definitely got some progressive people on here... but now we've gotta start creating! So greg... want to start up a session? I love what you've got up here...

Greg is absolutely on point with the absence of a viable scene in today’s music community. Years ago (I'm young but I've heard about these days!)one could afford to hang out in bars and clubs. Just jamming and sitting in nowadays cost a small fortune. It is at times too expensive just to get in some of the clubs and today’s concerts prices are indeed very high. You used to be able to walk into a music club and it would be filled with mostly musicians and today you see much less. It is just costly to be a part of today’s music scene. This is why I think Indaba is so great! You are part of a huge scene of musicians and music lovers just by being a member! I can now sit in and jam with others and still have money for lunch! I don’t have fight with the door guy, no cover charges and no drink minimums. I have tried many collaborating sites and Indaba is by far the easiest to use and seems to be expanding very quickly. While they say on-line collaboration is the way of the future, I thank Indaba for being the scene of today.

I'm open for contributing to any session thats saying something. Post something, a groove or partially completed work-in-progress and I'll have a listen. Then I'll add something if the piece needs it or if I hear something that will compliment it. - GO
