I've been playing since 1971. Some advice for newbies is just to try to compete with the millions of songs from the seventies and eighties. If you can, you are assured of success. Be aware that back in the seventies DJ's had a choice of thousands of songs to play at any one time, now they have a choice of millions. Also, you can only play as good as you can hear so work on training your ear, also listen to your producer if you're really serious about a music career. And one last thing, don't expect to get paid as much as earlier rockers did...remember the millions of songs you now have to compete with for air time? Good luck!
