I made my very first song probably about 4 or 5 years ago on a demo of FL Studio and never looked back. It was god awful and wouldn't play it for anybody today, but it got me on the track that I am now. I'm currently going to college to hopefully become a music producer and maybe someday be a DJ if I find time to learn the equipment.
I live in Kansas City, MO and spend my time doing three things: working, schooling, and making music. Skill comes more and more for me with every song that I make. I learn something new with every attempt until now I consider myself to be a fairly decent producer, but not great yet.
The software I use is Ableton which has done wonders for me when it comes to actually programming. Such a wonderful program. Before Ableton, I used primarily FL Studio.
