Greg Mayo

Born and raised in Harrison, NY, Greg grew up in a musical household. The son of musician Bob Mayo (of Peter Frampton, Hall and Oates and others), hes had it in his blood. For his freshman year in college, he attended the Hartt School of Music, in Hartford, CT. There, he studied Jazz under greats like Nat Reeves, and Steve Davis. He also was a student of Music Production and Technology; he even recorded his first solo album within the studios at Hartt, "All Integrity Set Aside," which was released in the summer of 2003.
Professional work began to pick up in the New York area, so Greg moved back to Westchester, enrolling at SUNY Purchase. During his time there, he released his second solo album, entitled, "More Time Than Money." In 2006, he graduated with a Bachelors of Music, concentrated in Studio Composition. Over the years, Greg has honed his skills on piano, guitar, bass and vocals, playing in many groups.

Today, he leads a group known as "Greg Mayo and the Groove," where he sings and plays keyboards, in addition to writing the majority of the material. They recently released their debut EP, entitled "Extended Play," and have been playing all over the New England area.
Greg is well versed in many musical styles, ranging from rock, pop, soul, funk and jazz.
