I believe in the groove and the feel and a good hook. Good lyrics and a meaningful performance are fine but I like some good ear candy too wash it down with.

After years of playing rock soild bass lines and grooves while guitarists played in their sandbox of endless solos I decided to break free and start a solo bass and eventually bass and drum performance.

Working With Others

How I Work:

My teacher once said I don't work and play well with others... just kidding.
No hourly rate. Few of us are rich. I'm happy to work out a "whatever you can manage" deal. If your project really interests me I'm more apt to track for modest compensation.

Experience:

I have been playing bass for over thirty years (since I was ten). I am classically trained on string bass (upright). I am largely self taught on electric though I have studied with some great professionals. I have played in community orchestra's and pit orchestras for plays and musical productions. I read charts and music. I studied audio recording in college and have worked as a professional recording engineer and live FOH engineer and monitor mixer. I have recorded with a number of bands.

Equipment:

Basses: Kubicki Factor Bass, Line 6 705 Bass, Rebuilt Kramer American.
Amps/effects
Gallien Kruger 1001 RB amp, Line 6 Bass Pod XT Live (this means the floor pedal version). ART SGX2000 (yes, this is the guitar version), 2 Electrix Repeaters, Alesis Quardaverb & Midiverb 4. DBX dual compressor,
Keyboards: Kurzweil K2000 & K2000R, Korg MS-20 patchable analog synth (for Frippatronics-like signal tracking)
Software keyboards: Native Instruments: B4, Absynth, FM7, Pro53, Kontact, Reactor 4.
Mics. CAD TSM411 drum mics, CAD KBM412 kick mic, CAD GLX2400 large diaphram condenser, Sure SM58s. Assortment of crappy dynamics.
Alesis Monitor One studio monitors.
Computers/software: PC computer and laptop w/ Steinberg Cubase SX3 & Wavelab 5, Propellerhead Reason & Rebirth, Abelton Live 6.
Other instruments:
Exhaustive collection of drums and percussion instruments, tenor banjo, alto sax, violin, clarinet, Ukalin, pan flute, penny whistles, recorders... blah blah blah...
