J. Popoff

History/Biography
J.Popoff AKA Jason Carter was born in Manhattan New York in November of 1973. Raised by a single mother they moved to Long Island in 1976 to a small town called Wyandanch better known as Crimedanch. Growing up in this town he learned everything about the streets and how to be a hustler. I guess you can say he was an intelligant thug becuase while he was running the street he always had a plan to finnish college and to one day become a businessman. When hip-hop music was becoming popular in the early 80's he began to write raps, breakdance, and beat box. When he turned 12 years old he recieved a set of turntables as a birthday gift. This became a driving force in his life and he started mixing tapes/cd's and making beats for the local rappers. He moved out to Los Angeles shortly after and began to perfect his style and became known for his DJ skills. He was offered a record deal at 13 years old but turned it down to pursue getting an education. He moved back to New York one year later and continued to finnish school.

In 1992 Drama Klub a hip hop rap group formed by J.popoff and other members out of Brooklyn and Long Island. The groups presence in the studio and on the stage was undeniable. By this time he had left the turntables alone to rap. Drama Klub signed to Omni spinn records and J.popoff started IN Da Smash entertainment and was hired to do promotions and publicity for the Omni spinn records Crime Scene Album.

J.popoff pursued his dream of going to college and graduated Five Towns College in 1997 with a degree in Music Business. Taking audio engineering as an elective, making mix tapes and years of recording in major studios he became facinated with making music and decided to pursue being a producer. Also, in 1997 he took a position at Jp Morgan Chase where he would go on to work for them as an online banker. J P morgan Chase relocated him to Houston, Texas in 2000. He left JP Morgan Chase in 2002 due to the birth of his first born son. Popoff did not returned to Chase but instead drove a taxi cab to make a living. One day while driving the cab he picked up a fair that would change his life, the person that was picked up was the one and only Face Da Musik one of the most hottest producers in the industry which Popoff met once before. It wasnt long before they came together to do collabortions with each other and started thinking about their own record label PUSH PLAY MUSIC GROUP.
