Lucille Ball and Marshall Royal changed my life. Hearing Marshall Royal gave me a sonic imprint of the beauty of its sound.
Twenty-something years later, after studies with Anthony Braxton and Frank Morgan and playing experiences that run the gamut from classical to free improvisation I'm composing music for my own group, the Lucky No.1 Band.
I love playing and composing: melodies, groove lines and going out, to the abstract.
