Working With Others

How I Work:

Since I'm a college student, I mostly work on weekends, sometimes I can find time during the week though.

Experience:

Cameron Izadi comes from an environment of highly professional musical instruction. Studying under both Jeff Beck and Art Rodriguez, Cameron has developed into a very experienced drummer. He has played with pro jazz ensembles on numerous occasions including the San Diego Chargers’ Band.

Cameron has also been a member of a couple successful local groups, one of which has released a professionally-mastered album, available for purchase on iTunes. More information regarding this group, including their taking of first place at the 2007 Valley Center Battle of the Bands, can be found at www.ArcanicMusic.com .

Since working on his band’s album, Cameron has worked as a producer on several projects. One project he produced was an audio recording of a live performance by Jonathan Rojas at the Valley Center Library.

This combination of high-quality instruction and experience in the professional arena qualifies Cameron as a producer, a professional drummer and a drum instructor.

Equipment:

Pearl drum kit, upright piano, macbook pro w/logic 8

Sure, here are three for you to listen to.

Dang! I thought not. Yea, the 1s are 1 in the measure. I had it all nice and spaced so it lined up with the words. Anyway. all I meant was two things you could do for the "Life's but a blank canvas" section, other than the pattern being 4 measures of 4/4, would be to make it 3 measures of 4/4 and 1 measure of 2/4, or just 3 measures of 4/4. You wouldn't have to change the vocals at all, you'd just be changing when the pattern repeats. I hope that makes more sense. This is turning out to be pretty hard to convey in writing, haha.

Well, I had it all nice and spaced out...

Hope it still makes sense...

Hey, I don't know how exactly I'm going to convey what I'm thinking, but I'll try.

Have you ever thought of doing some odd phrasing in the climax of Blank Canvas?

Right now, it's this:

Life's But a blank can- vas Life's
1 - - - 1 - - - 1 - - - 1 - - - 1....

Which is sweet, but you could also drop 2 beats like:

Life's But a blank can- vas Life's
1 - - - 1 - - - 1 - - - 1 - 1...

Or, you could do 3 bar phrasing like:

Life's But a blank can- vas Life's
1 - - - 1 - - - 1 - - - 1...

But, dude, let me tell you. I am in no way suggesting that it is not awesome as it is. I could just take those 45 seconds and put it on loop and drive anywhere in the country. I was just listening to it and thought of some unusual things you could do. As you could probably tell by my music, I have a weird thing for odd meters/phrases...

Blank Canvas is awesome!!! Good lyrics! AMAZING CLIMAX!

Will Blocher wrote on January 14, 2009:

Hey, thanks man. I have thought of drum and bass. I don't really do either well, but I've got no band right now... I don't enjoy recording tons of layers of myself as much as I do playing with other people, y'know? If I ever make a cd, though, I am gonna clean these up. Add some instruments etc.
