About Me

Skill Level:
Amateur
Craft:
songwriter, musician, singer
Instruments:
Guitar (All), Bass, drums
Genres:
World Music
Influences:
Bob Marley, Bob Dylan, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Modest Mouse, Django Reinhardt, The Prodigy, Cake

Matt likes to refer to himself in the third person; because, like the rest of the people on Indaba who like to use a third-person reference in their profile, he too likes to inflate his ego and make himself seem more important than he really is.

Matt has been playing instruments since he was a young lad, and has been writing for 5 years. He is primarily a guitar player/singer/songwriter, but he likes playing bass, percussion, keyboard, and anything else he can get his hands on. He recognizes that patience with himself and his musical abilities is important, but not to be too patient. He just recently began to produce, and is still learning tricks of the trade.

Furthermore, Matt has received critical acclaim from his mother. She claims he is, "an amazing sensation who encompasses the feelings and emotions of up and coming generations." (Outrageous and Ridiculous Assertions, 2009)

If anyone has anything critical to say about his music, he is all ears. Help him learn!!!

Working With Others

How I Work:

I don't rightfully have any sort of method. I've done it all types of ways.

Experience:

Played banjo for 4 years, sold banjo (haven't played since), bought drums. Played drums for 6 years, sold set, bought guitar. Played guitar for 9 years. Still playing. Just picked up a bass a year ago. Playing hand drums for 8+ years. Minimal harmonica experience (I've got one, lol).

Equipment:

Instruments: 2 Acoustic Guitars (Alvarez and Breedlove), 1 electric (Pevey something or other), bongo's (remo), 2 Bass's (1 fretless). Pearl Export Series trap set.

Other: Line 6 Floor pod plus, and an old Fender m-80 amp. M-Audio Axiom 49.

Recording: Protools L.E. 7.4 (cant figure out the upgrade to 8, dont have time to screw with it), AKG C3000 (Orignial series. Looking to get a better mic.) Just got Reason (still learning).

Thank you so much Matt, I truly appreciate you coming and checking on my stuff. And thank you on your warm comments on my pieces! I was wondering, if you're ever interested in doing a male/female part duet of a soft rock/bluesy type song, let me know! Would love to do that : )
Much blessings,
Shakunetsu
