About Me

Skill Level:
Amateur
Instruments:
Keyboard (All), computer (pc)
Genres:
electronic
Influences:
Gorillaz, Kraftwerk, Muse, Blur

Under the pseudonym 2der Mooby, I've been creating electronic music with my computer for nearly 5 years now. My style ranges from utter silliness to dead serious, with influences ranging from classical and baroque to modern electronica and progressive rock.

I use a lot of synth sounds and soundfont and when do I use samples they are generally of the "one shot" variety and mostly percussion of some sort. I avoid loops that I haven't made myself although I have used them when in a pinch or as they inspire me. When appropriate I try to make my drums sound as real as possible.

I've been dabbling alone for years but I am so tired of that. I want to learn and grow as an artist (if that's what I'd be). I want some viable feedback. I've been making electronic tracks for years but in a lot of ways I've been stumbling around in the dark.

Working With Others

How I Work:

I have split personality when it comes to making music On one side it's a frantic race to get the sounds from my brain as soon as they arrive. The other side is a slow and meticulous process of digging through my sound library for a voice that switches a light on.

I will work with anyone willing to put up with my odd sensibilities and would be content to provide even the tiniest contribution to a project.

I don not work Tuesdays or bank holidays.

Experience:

5 years of grinding away on my own.

I collaborated once, programming a drum track for a local band on a Christmas song they made. I worked very hard to make organic sounding percussion, not a techno loop. I'm very proud of how my part of that particular track turned out.

Equipment:

Sony Acid, FL studio, a hand-me-down casio keyboard

Thanks Jeff, I am very happy wiith the mood and as always once a work is released there are loads of improvements I would like to have made, technical and instrumental. I think it was George Lucas that said most movies are abandoned at an appropriate point rather than finished. (Not that my soundtrack compares with his movies:-)) best of luck in the competition Jeff
