My name is John Nobles. I grew up in Fayetteville, North Carolina. I'm currently back living in my home town of Fayetteville NC and my favorite Lake Waccamaw, NC spot. I'm a graduate of Douglas Byrd High School (1980 in Fayetteville, NC) and Guilford College (1984 in Greensboro, NC). I have a happy marriage to Karen with our three kids, Amanda 13, John Jr. 12 and Zach 10 years old. Karen and I spent many years in Florida (Jacksonville, Orlando and Tampa) and continue to enjoy trips back to Jacksonville, FL to visit family.
My Day Job - Since 1984, I've worked as a computer systems engineer and/or project manager in the IT Industry.
Music Background:
I've played in small bands since I was a kid in the 70's. Wishing I could make a living at it 100%! Still do! I've recently played The Dog House in Fayetteville, NC with a talented local rock band called "On Tap", as I fill in when they need a guitar player or a soundman. I play slide guitar for the contemporary band at my local Haymount United Methodist Church. I also enjoy playing lead and slide guitar every wednesday night with another band (in start-up mode). A few years ago I put together a small home studio, where I enjoy creating original music with a long time high school friend, Jimmy Campbell. We are currently working on an Americana project called AStudioJ Project.
My music influences:
Many - Blues, Jazz, Jam Band, Rock, Country, Alternative and Americana are among my favorites.
What's in my music player right now?
The Derek Trucks Band (Already Free and Songlines), Jimmy Herring (LifeBoat), and Susan Tedeschi (Back To The River and Hope and Desire).
