Friday July 25, 2008 at 12:23 PM

My name is Jim Goodin and I'm a multi-instrumentalist with a guitar foundation in the World Experimental genre.  A very special duo project/band that I am one half of came together intially over two years ago from chance email meeting via the Loopers-Delight Web community.  We utilized a streaming audio software called NinJam to collaborate live over the web bridging our 4000 miles apart from Mexico to NY.  After 8 months of developing our guitar based loop enhanced experimental improvised world we dubbed Chinapainting, we met here in NY and did 4 live shows in the summer of 2007 throughout the region.  In addition we recorde what will be our first studio and 3rd CD release, Night Blooming Cereus, due out very soon.

Chinapainting once again unites for 4 shows beginning here in NYC this weekend.  We're doing 3 here and 1 in Boston next weekend.  Please plan to come and check out the Chinapainting world of Jim Goodin and Daryl Shawn.

More about Chinapainting...

Chinapainting is the Int'l improvisational acoustic guitar/tape looping duo of Daryl Shawn (Oaxaca Mexico) and Jim Goodin (Brooklyn), founded two years ago by chance meeting through a web community on the art of looping.  We laid the ground work of Chinapainting through on-line real time music interaction for 8 months and then decided to officially meet and take it to the stage in the summer of 2007 here in the northeast.  While we were together we spent two days recording at FlyMax studios in Woodstock NY and are releasing very soon a new CD from those sessions, Night Blooming Cereus.  We followed the summer 2007 series of northeast shows with a short fall tour on the west coast of northern California performing as featured artists at the prestigious International Live Looping Festival.  Between live tours we continue to work together electronically and are uniting for this our 3rd series of live performances beginning this weekend.

Please plan to come to one of the Chinapainting shows...

Best with your muse
