Tyler Adam

Tyler Adam (born April, 29th 1986) is a self-made electro-pop singer-songwriter, an independent record label owner, a radio show host, and a multi-genre producer. Music double stuffed with hot-breath raps and slithery electro pulses successfully punctuated with leather gloved hand claps is only the beginning for this Canadian small town artist.

Jack Kitty Records is a Canadian independent record label, founded in 2006 by the 20 year old Tyler Adam as a way to distribute music and maintain 100% control.

In Fall 2006 Tyler released an underground mix tape called So Fly Vol. 1

The mix tape was produced by Tyler Adam showcasing 21 original tracks with featured artists like Sense In Common (Canada), Kel (U.S.A.), Tha Light (U.S.A.), Koodadd (U.S.A), Razor (The UK), Young Shaw (Canada), Kyle Ord (Canada), Lil Uno (U.S.A) and more!

January and February 07 the debut solo album on Jack Kitty Records titled A B S U R D was recorded at The Dream Studio in Peterborough Ontario.

This album found Tyler with an in your face and down your pants style that was completely new. Tyler was producing for himself and this ten track [LP] was written about his raw emotions, primarily sexual! The lead single Fuck The Chase (feat. B-Rock) was also written by Brendan McGovern aka B-Rock. The albums opening number is a poem from Ty's childhood being performed by Sense In Common. Even Kaitlin McNeil lends background vocals on title track as well as on the closing song Hear My Calling

During A B S U R D sessions early 07 Tyler and Kaitlin recorded politically charged Money Hungry World composed by The UKs Antzilla featuring UK MC Razor. Tyler also recorded Inhale a song written and produced by Dead Eyes Dog of Thailand and wrote and recorded System with Japanese MC Dai. He also wrote and recorded For Lovers Not Fighters composed by tOtaLcULt (The UK).

Then in March 07 on the tail end of recording sessions for A B S U R D a new friend from the UK jumped on a plane and traveled to Canada. This new friend was Fiem.

With Tyler on Production and Fiem on lyrics and vocals they created Progress [LP] in just two weeks.

Tyler Adam and Fiem duet on the mellow industrial tune Are You? Fiem and Lando (of Tha Light) school you on the urban Only The Truth. This seventeen track [LP] was released side by side with A B S U R D in April 2007.

Jack Kitty Records and Tyler Adam relocated from Peterborough to Toronto in June 2007 leaving behind label mates and room mates DJ Sheena and Kaitlin McNeil.

July and August of 2007 Tyler Adam hosted Jack Kitty Radio, a one-hour online show and worked in The Dream Studio on four new mix tapes. reMIX3D Vol. 1, Vol. 2, Vol. 3 & Vol. 4 which were released during the fall of 2007 and spring of 2008 for free online digital downloads.

The reMIX3D mix tapes feature work from Bad Lay-Dee, DJ Owen Tate, Scarlet Blonde, Wide Band Network, Tay Zonday, Blind Faith and Envy, Hattie Willcox, Sun Caged, Illegal Substance and more!

Tyler Adam continued to track demos at The Dream Studio during fall of 07 and spring 08 in Toronto, Ontario.

In January 2008 Tyler released an [EP] called Prophecy featuring piano tunes with an ambient, drum and bass style production. The instrumental [EP] can be heard on CBC Radio 3 and spawned a # 1 single with Spiritual Revolution on Sound Click.

April 08 TA hit the studio to record Channel It an urban record written by Tyler and produced by THX.

Producer THX is best known for his work with Busta Rhymes and Snoop Dogg. Channel It was released as a single by Tyler Adam and Jack Kitty Records and featured an intro track Written All Over Your Face also produced by THX. TA also recorded several other tracks with THX that may appear on the second solo-LP due fall 08/spring 09.

On May 6th, 2008 Tyler Adam and Jack Kitty Records released SLIDING DOORS [LIMITED EDITION] CD SINGLE. Sliding Doors is the single written and produced by Tyler Adam, along with tracks I Can Fly and Painting After Hours. The CD SINGLE also featured Sliding Doors [Part II], Some Change and OH NO produced by the UKs Antzilla. The CD Single has 6 tracks in all and was released via Jack Kitty Records at MySpace.com/JackKittyRecords and also was made available as a digital download on Sound Click.

Sliding Doors reached #2 on Glee.com and I Can Fly from the single reached #1 in Neo-Soul and #8 on Urban charts on Sound Click.

Tyler is still in recording sessions currently working on two projects.

One is GRIME [LP] and the second is still currently untitled OFFICIAL CD on Jack Kitty Records.

GRIME [LP] will be a free digital download album, released online on June 10th 2008. GRIME features produced by UK Grime & Garage beat producers.

The second solo-LP will feature a mature Tyler with a clear focus. Great music! The album will be released world wide in late 2008 early 2009 and will feature a 2009 tour that includes Canada, the USA, Australia, and parts of Europe.
