I never learned to play guitar or piano, my jr. high school band teacher told me "girls don't play drums" and I vowed never to go near a clarinet. So as a teenanger I was left with the only instrument I knew how to use. A pen.
Since then, I never stopped watching, listening, asking questions or writing.
Over the years I have:
Won a Big Boy Easter egg coloring contest
Published a punk rock fanzine called TacoRocko
Graduated from DePaul University
Worked at 4 ad agencies [New Business]
Sold everything I owned and relocated to New York City
Written for AdAge.com
Spoken at a lot of conferences about trends and new media
Danced onstage with Al Jourgensen
Started a webzine: ForwardNation.com
Aced vocals on RockBand as "Bitchin' Betty"
Tried many bourbons.
Thanks for viewing my page Noelle, I hope something caught your eye. All comments are appreciated. So what kind of things do you prefer writing then?
Brits!
Noelle-
Thanks for the link! Very cool. I was actually Twittering with Daniel J. Levitin (the neurologist who was hosting the documentary) while watching the show out here on the West Coast Wednesday night last week. Very fun! Looking forward to some new Indaba projects in the fall...any response to my goofy video? Thanks!!
Noelle. DO you switch from Bourbon to a... I don't know, "lighter" liquor come the summer time? Hahaha.
I hope you're keeping my old desk and chair warm, it suits you better anyways.
thanks for the add i love what indaba is doing! - Jus Bus
Thanks for the add Noelle. Great to have you in my friends. Have a great week.
I'm using it to expose kids who like hip hop to new types of hip hop music. i'm also getting them to "battle" other rappers on indaba, as well as collaborating with other producers. Mid march sounds good.
Hi Noelle,
Thanks for the feature, even if it wasn't your planning. I'm just making a few rounds to Indaba Staff.
I was reading the Convo you had with Ken below. Cue me in on this idea too. I'm also a hip hop educator. I've encouraged some of my students to use Indaba!
Noelle-
Yes! I am very interested in chatting about this on-line or over the phone. You can email me at kependergrass at me.com
I would love to help some educators get this going with Indaba.
thanks
Hello I'm new to this site and I was just browsing profiles. Congrats on all your success.
I'm new to the site, but have been having some fun checking out all the talented people here. Everything has gone smoothly so far though, so thanks for all you do.
Hello pretty lady. Yes now that you mention it there are a couple of things. I think a chat room would be really cool. i have a hunch people would spend more time on the site if they could have instant interaction with other members. And a modify or edit feature for comments would be great. Because as it stands if you make a typing error you either have to leave it as is or copy, delete, paste and then edit your comment. Way too much work you know? It's a pleasure to meet you. I'll be sure to stay in touch!
Hi there. Are you gonna post some of your tunes? I'd like to hear your music. Happy New Year!
Happy Holidays Noelle, I'm a new member to indabamusic and love this site. I've tried to spread the word to managers and independent music companies. Wishing you and all who work for indaba a wonderful 2009 ! Best, Dave Thoener
Noelle- thanks again for the reply. Would you be interested in collaborating with my students next semester? I teach this same class again and would love to do some new media stuff with this group of kids...let me know what you think.
-Ken
Noelle-
Thank you for the encouragement on this project. My students are really motivated about this and are thrilled other people are actually listening and commenting on their work. It's really inspiring.

thanks for the comment. just when I thought no one was listening. What part of BK are you in? I used to live in and all around bed-stuy and my wife is from b-ville. Do you write songs?
